Shane Kakau

Shane Kakau has extensive work experience in the field of software engineering. Since 2021, they have been working at Kry, starting as a Senior Software Engineer and currently serving as a Software Engineering Manager. At CGM Stockholm, from 2015 to 2021, Shane held the position of Senior Software Engineer. In this role, they were the lead software developer and architect for mobile device development, particularly in implementing and trialing the use of mobile apps to assist medical staff in the emergency department of a major Swedish hospital. Shane also worked as a Senior Business System Analyst at Qantas in 2017. Prior to that, they worked at Jeppesen Systems AB from 2008 to 2015, primarily as a Senior Software Engineer, where they worked with various mainstream languages, frameworks, and standards for web application development. Shane was involved in front-end development, server-side development, and the development and maintenance of the build pipeline. Additionally, Shane held the role of Course Leader for Crew Web Solutions during their tenure at Jeppesen Systems AB. Shane was responsible for developing and maintaining course materials and exercises related to crew web products. Shane was also a member of the User Experience Design Group, actively involved in establishing best practices and guidelines and evaluating the usability of crew web products. Before their employment at Jeppesen Systems AB, Shane worked as a Programming Assistant at Gothenburg University from 2007 to 2008. In this role, they assisted first-year students with course exercises and assignments for the Java Programming Course. Shane's earliest work experience was at Source One, where they started as an onsite installer in 1999. Shane was subsequently promoted to project manager and eventually served as the Installation Manager, overseeing business accountability and day-to-day operations.

From 2005 to 2008, Shane Kakau attended the University of Gothenburg, where they obtained a B.Sc degree in Software Engineering and Management.
