Kat S.

Kat S. has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Kat started their career as a Grant Coordinator/Research Assistant at Roger Williams Medical Center where they managed grant applications and performed data analysis for cancer research clinical trials. Kat then moved on to become a Grant & Contract Coordinator, overseeing grant and contract management for the medical center.

Kat S. joined Brown University as a Senior eRA & Contract Administrator, where they played a crucial role in the implementation of the Coeus System for research administration. Kat was responsible for training users, developing policies and procedures, and answering user inquiries. Kat also co-led the Kuali Foundation's Kuali Coeus Pre-Award and System-to-System Functional Equivalency Groups.

Following their time at Brown University, Kat S. worked at Navigator Management Partners as a Senior Consultant and later as a Consultant. Kat'sresponsibilities included project management, business process design, system configuration, and training development/delivery. Kat also provided expertise in the Kuali Coeus/Kuali Research product.

Kat S. then joined Kuali, Inc. as a Functional Consultant, providing project management and functional consulting support for customer implementations of Kuali. Kat worked closely with developers and product owners, developed user support documentation, and assisted with bug and feature testing. Kat later took on the role of Customer Success Manager, and finally became the Director of Implementations & Customer Success.

Most recently, Kat S. founded their own consulting company, JNK Group, where they serve as the Founder & Principal Consultant.

Kat S. completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Neuroscience at Brown University from 2003 to 2007. Additionally, Kat has obtained several certifications, including a Certificate in Research Administration from Brown University in September 2010. Kat also acquired the following certifications: Project Management Professional (PMP®) from the Project Management Institute in October 2015, The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People (Certificate of Completion) from FranklinCovey in October 2015, Crucial Conversations (Certificate of Completion) from VitalSmarts in January 2015, and Prosci Change Management Practitioner from Prosci in March 2016. Kat holds a Certified Business Analysis Professional™ (CBAP®) certification from the IIBA in August 2016 and a 21 CFR Part 11: Electronic Records; Electronic Signatures (Certificate of Completion) from the Society of Quality Assurance in July 2020. Moreover, they completed a Primer on Federal Contracting course at NCURA: National Council of University Research Administrators in September 2011 and an Export Compliance (EC) - Basic certification from CITI Program, A Division of BRANY in May 2020.
