Chin Hang Ong

Software Engineer at Kula

Chin Hang Ong has a diverse work experience, starting with an upcoming role as a Software Engineer at Kula. Prior to this, they worked as a Student Teaching Assistant at the National University of Singapore, where they also served as a Student Researcher at the NUS Smart Systems Institute. In this role, they integrated AI solutions into AR glasses using Unity and developed a C++ plugin for marker detection.

Before their time at the university, Chin Hang Ong was a Software Engineer Intern at KLASS, where they conducted research on image encoding and built an object detection backend using OpenVINO. Chin Hang also researched video stitching algorithms and contributed to the development of the first prototype.

Their work experience also includes an IT Internship at GoldSilver Central Pte Ltd, where they independently created a workflow automation software using Python and SQLite. Chin Hang built a web interface for this software using Django and implemented customized login functionalities for the company's new website.

Chin Hang Ong attended the National University of Singapore from 2019 to 2023, where they obtained a Bachelor of Computer Engineering (Hons) degree. During their time at the university, they earned several certifications and achievements, including being on the Deans' List for AY2022/2023 Semester 1 and receiving the Top Students for Computer Engineering Capstone Project award. Chin Hang also obtained a certification in Large-Scale Computing from the National University of Singapore and became an Associate Cloud Engineer through Google. Additionally, in 2022, they briefly attended the Georgia Institute of Technology to study Computer Engineering.
