Carolyn A.

Carolyn A. has over 20 years of experience in human resources. Carolyn is currently working as the Vice President of Human Resources at KULR Technology Group, Inc. Since joining in 2023, they have been responsible for providing disruptive space-proven thermal management technologies and driving strategic initiatives.

Prior to their current position, Carolyn worked as a Senior Human Resources Business Partner at National University System from 2019 to 2023. During their tenure, they acted as a strategic HR consultant to executive and senior leadership, driving performance, engagement, diversity, and retention. Carolyn also spearheaded cultural transformation and organizational effectiveness.

Before that, Carolyn served as the Director of Human Resources at San Diego Christian College from 2016 to 2019. In this role, they led the human capital strategy across the college, significantly transforming the culture and increasing engagement. Carolyn also streamlined the recruiting life cycle.

From 2011 to 2016, Carolyn held various roles at the University of California, San Diego. Carolyn started as an HR Specialist, conducting full-cycle technical recruitment and training HR specialists in the unit. Later, they became an HR Analyst/HR Business Partner, advising management on classification, compensation, and employee relations issues. Carolyn also served as the Assistant HR Manager at the San Diego Supercomputer Center, managing a diverse workforce of union and non-union employees.

Carolyn's earlier experience includes working as an HR Generalist at The Rock Church from 2010 to 2011, where they handled full-cycle recruitment and conducted new hire orientation and exit interviews. Carolyn also held temporary roles as an HR Specialist at the University of California, San Diego in 2008 and from 2002 to 2003.

Throughout their career, Carolyn has demonstrated expertise in strategic HR consulting, organizational transformation, cultural change initiatives, recruitment, and employee relations.

Carolyn A., SPHR, MA has a diverse education history. Carolyn completed a Human Resource Management Certificate from UC San Diego, a Bachelor's Degree in Sociology from UCLA, and a Master's degree from Franciscan University of Steubenville. Additionally, they obtained a Mediation Certificate in 40-hour training from National University. In 2014-2015, Carolyn completed a Certificate in Academic Personnel from UC San Diego, specializing in Academic Personnel. Carolyn has also obtained several additional certifications, including Drive Results With Talent, PI Talent Optimization, Team Performance Certificate, and Diversity Equity and Inclusion in the Workplace. Carolyn has received multiple certifications related to civil rights investigations, including Civil Rights Investigator Level Two and Civil Rights Investigator Two: Advanced. Carolyn is a Gallup Certified Strengths Coach and holds the title of Senior Professional in Human Resources from the HR Certification Institute.
