Viman Deb

Viman Deb has worked at a variety of companies, starting with Yahoo as an Intern in 2009. Viman then worked at Directi as a Software Engineer, followed by Amazon as an SDE-2 and SDE. In 2012, they worked at Google as a Software Engineer, where they worked on the entire stack, most notably on Google Wallet's authentication integration with Google's GAIA infrastructure. Viman then moved to LinkedIn in 2014, where they were a Staff Software Engineer and a Staff Software Engineer, Machine Learning. In this role, they were the tech lead and architect for Hiring Platform, an ATS offering, and was also one of the 10 Data Model Review Committee leads at LinkedIn. In 2019, they moved to Uber as a Tech Lead, Feature Store and Embeddings in Uber AI, where they worked on training a Two Tower model for Eats Home feed ranking and building the infra in Michelangelo to support Embeddings as a first class citizen. Viman also led Bayesian Optimization at Uber. In 2021, they became an Advisor and Investor for multiple startups, and in 2022, they became a Founding Engineer at Kumo.AI.

Viman Deb has a B.Tech in Information Technology from the Indian Institute of Information Technology Allahabad. Viman also has a certification in Deep Learning Specialization from Coursera.
