Taru Kuittinen

Taru Kuittinen has extensive work experience in the medical field. From 2017 onwards, they have been working at Kuopio University Hospital as the Head of the Hematological Unit. Prior to this role, they served as a Senior Medical Officer at the Finnish Medicines Agency Fimea from 2015 to 2017. Taru also held the position of Senior Hematologist at Kuopio University Hospital from 2010 to 2015. Earlier in their career, Taru worked as a Senior Hematologist at Helsinki University Central Hospital from 2007 to 2009, and also had a research fellowship at the Biomedicum hematological research unit during the same time period.

Taru Kuittinen holds an MD, PhD, and is an Adjunct Professor. In 1998, Taru began working as an Intern Specialist. In 2002, Taru became a Hematologist. In 2006, Taru completed a Doctoral dissertation on Autologous stem cell transplantation and Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, earning a PhD degree from the University of Eastern Finland. Continuing with academic pursuits, Taru became an Adjunct Professor in Clinical Hematology at the University of Eastern Finland in 2013.
