Yang Song

Yang Song is the VP of Engineering at Kuaishou Technology, overseeing a team of over 100 engineers and scientists focused on recommendations for short-video, e-commerce, live-room, and ads, serving around 400 million daily active users in China and 1 billion worldwide. Previously, Yang served as an Engineering Manager and Staff Research Engineer at Google from May 2016 to June 2020, specializing in NLP, dialogue, search, and recommendation systems. Prior experience includes a role as a researcher at Microsoft Research from December 2008 to May 2016, contributing to deep learning projects and launching notable products such as Cortana and Bing Ads. Early career positions include a summer research internship at IBM and research internships at Microsoft Research and Ask.com. Yang holds a PhD in Computer Science and Engineering from Penn State University and a B.S. in Computer Science and Engineering from Zhejiang University.
