Christy Pettey began their work experience in 1999 as a UW Classroom Support Services Fiscal Specialist at the University of Washington. Christy then worked at the Washington Shoe Company as an Accounts Receivable Manager and later as an Accounting Manager. In 2003, they joined TransGroup Worldwide Logistics as an Accounts Receivable Area Manager.
In 2005, Pettey joined Bechtel Corporation where they held various roles, including Human Resources Senior Technician, LANS Transition Lead Systems Representative, Human Resources Representative, Engineering Staffing Lead, Sr HR Specialist for Special Projects, Acting HR Operations Supervisor, and Sr Human Resources Generalist for Engineering. Christy worked on tasks such as HR reporting, data analysis, staffing, destaffing, employee support, and managing HR staff.
Since 2020, they have been working at Kwik Lok Corporation, first as the Director of Human Resources and then as the Chief People Officer. In their role, they have developed and implemented strategic HR initiatives, policies, and programs, and led Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion initiatives.
Throughout their career, Pettey has demonstrated expertise in HR management, continuous improvement, change management, and data analysis.
Christy Pettey holds a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from the University of Washington. Christy also obtained a Masters of Professional Studies in Organization Development and Change from Penn State University. Additionally, they have obtained several certifications including a Workplace Mental Health Ally certification from SHRM in 2023, a Six Sigma Black Belt certification from Bechtel Corporation in 2020, a Data Visualization: Best Practices certification from LinkedIn in 2019, a SHRM - Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) certification from SHRM in 2022, and a Professional in Human Resources® (PHR®) certification from HR Certification Institute - HRCI in 2018.
