Andrea Mertens

Andrea Mertens has a diverse work experience in the legal and agricultural sectors. Andrea is currently working as the Lead of Expert Hub Legal at KWS Group since January 2022. Prior to that, they served as a Senior Compliance Officer at KWS SAAT SE from May 2019 to January 2022. Andrea also held the position of Manager Agricultural Policy & Stakeholder Affairs at Bayer Crop Science from January 2016 to April 2019. Before joining Bayer Crop Science, Andrea worked as an Attorney at Law & Head of Seed Trade Department at Bundesverband Deutscher Pflanzenzüchter e.V. from October 2006 to December 2015. Andrea began their legal career as an Attorney at Law at RA Kanzlei Heindl from June 2002 to June 2006.

Andrea Mertens obtained their 1. juristisches Staatsexamen in Rechtswissenschaften (Law Studies) from the University of Cologne in 1999. Andrea then pursued their 2. juristisches Staatsexamen at Landgericht Aachen from 2000 to 2002.
