Jodie Schleusener has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and companies. Jodie currently holds the position of Head of Community at Kynd since December 2021. Prior to that, they founded My Foundations in 2020, where they facilitated professional development activities and contributed to the development of a competent support worker workforce. Jodie also served as an Advisory Committee Member at Community Circles Australia from September 2021 to December 2022.

From 2020 to 2021, they worked at the Jeder Institute as a Support Coordinator, Specialist Support Coordinator, and Behaviour Support Practitioner. Their responsibilities included facilitating community conversations, building resilience, and coordinating supports and capacity building.

Jodie served in leadership roles at the Australian Community Counselling Association as the President of the Board of Directors from January to October 2020, and as the Vice President from September 2019 to January 2020. In these roles, they supported the professional development of Counsellors and Psychotherapists and encouraged member engagement.

Before that, Jodie worked at Mable from 2017 to 2019, where they held positions as the Queensland State Manager and Community Engagement Manager. Jodie contributed to revolutionizing community-based support by connecting people seeking care and support with independent self-employed workers.

From 2012 to 2017, Jodie worked at Ability Options as a Regional Manager and a Self-Managed Individualized Funding Consultant. Jodie supported people in achieving their aspirations and increasing opportunities for independence and choice.

Prior to that, Jodie worked as a Self-Employed individual at Building Bright Tomorrows (BBT) from 2009 to 2012, providing support and education in applied person-centered practice and asset-based community development.

Their early work experience includes roles at Sunnyfield, where they served as a Person Centred Practice Specialist, Service Manager, Service Team Leader, and Community Support Worker. Sunnyfield is an NDIS registered service provider that promotes inclusive futures for people with disabilities.

Jodie's career began at the WorkCover Authority of New South Wales in 2003, where they worked as an Industry Liaison Officer in Community & Business Services.

Jodie Schleusener completed their High School Certificate (OP) at Downlands College in 1993. Jodie then went on to receive a Certificate 4 in Community Services - Disability from Nove Employment & Training in 2007-2008.

In terms of higher education, Jodie earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Charles Sturt University in 2013. Currently, they are pursuing a Master of Social Work degree at the same university, with an expected completion date in 2024.

Jodie has also obtained several certifications throughout their career. In 2007, they became a Person-Centred Planner through Helen Sanderson Associates. In 2008, they completed the Asset Based Community Development program offered by Inclusion Works. In 2009, they obtained the MAP / PATH Facilitation certification from Jack Pearpoint & Lynda Kahn through Inclusion Press.

Furthermore, Jodie has acquired various certifications in recent years. In 2020, they completed the RISE UP Individual & Group Supervision program offered by the Australian Counselling Association and became Dare to Lead Trained through Dare to Lead™ Training. In 2022, they joined the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) as a Social Work Student Member.
