Mike P.

Mike P. has over 10 years of work experience in software engineering and related fields. Mike began their career in 2011 as an Undergraduate Research Assistant in Dr. Peter Wipf's Research Group. In 2013, they worked as a Data and Business Intelligence Intern at The Resumator. In 2014, they became a Software Engineer at Academia.edu, where they developed and launched a project to enable users to add coauthors to papers they have uploaded. Mike then joined AltSchool in 2015 as a Senior Software Engineer, where they were responsible for full-stack product development with Ember.js and Django. In 2017, Mike joined Affirm, Inc. as a Staff Software Engineer, where they co-started the Web Foundation team and helped scale the team from two to six engineers. Mike also provided direct, active mentorship to new and junior engineers on the team and served as tech lead for many team initiatives. Mike is currently a Software Engineer at Opto Investments, which they joined in 2022.

Mike P. attended St. Louis University High School from 2006 to 2010 and earned their High School degree. Mike then attended the University of Pittsburgh from 2010 to 2014 and studied Computer Science.
