Andrew Sarega

Councilmember at LA MIRADA, CITY OF

Councilmember Andrew Sarega was elected to the La Mirada City Council on March 5, 2013 and re-elected on March 7, 2017. He has been a resident of La Mirada for over 25 years during which time he attended Escalona Elementary School, Benton Middle School, and La Mirada High School, graduating in 2005 with highest honors. After attending Biola University, Councilmember Sarega moved to Europe for two years where he played professional soccer for various European clubs.

Upon returning to the United States, Councilmember Sarega completed his Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice from California State University, Fullerton. He is a retired police officer with the City of Newport Beach. In 2012, he was awarded the Life Saving Award for his actions while on duty. Councilmember Sarega has also obtained his Master of Public Administration degree from National University and currently runs his own small business.

Councilmember Sarega has served as the chairman of the Contract Cities Membership Committee, executive board member on the Gateway Cities Council of Governments, and executive board member with California Contract Cities Association.
