Jake Kaplove

Jake Kaplove is an experienced educator with a background in science and language arts instruction, currently teaching at La Scuola International School since August 2020, and serving as a Middle School Science Teacher at Spanish Infusión School since August 2016. At Spanish Infusión School, Jake implemented an interdisciplinary project-based curriculum for grades 5-8 and established standards-based grading systems and behavior management practices as a founding 6th grade teacher. In the role of Director of Student Life, Jake initiated student leadership programs and developed behavior management plans incorporating restorative justice practices. Previously, Jake held positions as an Associate Teacher and Upper School Spanish Teacher at The Nueva School, where project management and social-emotional learning were emphasized. Jake's international experience includes serving as an English Teaching Assistant with the Fulbright Association, where cultural exchange and innovative curriculum development were key responsibilities. Jake holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and Spanish from Bates College.

La Scuola International School

Preschool and K-8 IB and Reggio Emilia inspired Italian Immersion International School, with campuses in San Francisco and Silicon Valley. At La Scuola we are inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach; and we use the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Program (IB-PYP) and Middle Years Program (IB-MYP) as the basis for the curriculum the students are taught. Children and parents do not need to know Italian to be at La Scuola. Spanish language taught as of Grade 4 and up.
