Juliane Pöpsel

Juliane Pöpsel is a seasoned medical microbiologist with significant experience in academia and industry. Currently serving at Labor Dr. Wisplinghoff since December 2019, Juliane previously held a position in scientific management and public outreach at the University of Cologne from June to November 2019. Prior to that, Juliane was a senior researcher at Counter Culture Labs from January 2017 to May 2019, focusing on molecular biological experiments to develop vegan milk using recombinant bovine casein proteins. An internship at Jeff Cohn Cellars in 2016 provided exposure to wine fermentation. Earlier academic endeavors included a postdoctoral position in molecular genetics at the University of Duisburg-Essen, where Juliane worked on Chromatin Immunoprecipitation to study DNA replication factors, and a PhD in cell biology from Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. Juliane also holds a master's degree in microbiology from Universität Osnabrück.
