Impact Sr. Associate/Vice President - LS Credit Reports to: Managing Director, LS Credit Job Summary
The team is seeking an investment professional to perform impact-specific (i) due diligence on new investments, (ii) monitoring of existing investments, and (iii) implementation of strategic initiatives for a burgeoning firm. This is an opportunity to join on the ground floor of a well-capitalized asset management company.
Responsibilities
- Participate in the refinement and implementation of Lafayette's impact framework for investments across our various strategies
- Conduct extensive, impact specific due diligence on new investment opportunities as a member of lean deal teams, including the evaluation of: human resource practices, supply chains, and governance practices of potential investments
- Conduct materiality assessments to determine the appropriate impact metrics to track for each investment both prior to and post-investment close
- Produce detailed reports analyzing a potential impact from a proposed investment, including an objective evaluation of investments against the firm's impact framework
- Assist with the ongoing monitoring of assets within the firm's portfolios against key impact metrics, as determined collectively by the deal team/investment committee and Impact Associate / Vice President
- Assist with strategic initiatives of the Lafayette Square platform, including general firm strategy, technology adoption and implementation, and fundraising
Requirements
- Passion for impact investing required
- Familiarity with impact reporting standards required (e.g. GRI, IRIS, IMP, SDGs)
- Experience: 5-8 Ideally, with 1-3 years investment, banking, or consulting experience. Strong preference will be given to candidates with impact investing experience
- Strong academic credentials - Bachelor's Degree is required
- Mature, responsible, and entrepreneurial qualities to complement the existing team
- Highly analytical mindset with the ability to analyze businesses, growth strategies, and the impact outcomes of investment opportunities
- Clear, concise writing skills with an ability to distill complex topics
