Philip Dale

Animator at LAIKA

Philip Dale is an accomplished animator and director with extensive experience in the animation industry. Since March 2008, Philip has worked at LAIKA, LLC, contributing as an Animator on projects such as "Kubo and the Two Strings," while also serving as a Character Animator and Director on "The Boxtrolls." Prior to this, Philip led a team at Framestore CFC on "The Tale of Despereaux" and directed a short live-action film "TREE" at Slinky Pictures, which was shortlisted for the Turner Movie Classic Short Film Awards in 2007. Philip’s earlier experience includes working as a Lead Animator on Tim Burton's Oscar-nominated "Corpse Bride," as well as directing and animating for various commercial projects at Passion Pictures. Philip also contributed to numerous children’s TV series and earned recognition for the Oscar and BAFTA-nominated short "The Periwig-Maker." Philip's educational background includes studies at Westminster Kingsway College and Tulse Hill Secondary School.
