Neil Keene

Neil Keene is a seasoned communications professional with extensive experience in media and journalism. Currently serving as Media Lead and previously as Communications and Engagement Officer at Lake Macquarie City Council since June 2018, Neil has also held the position of Communications Officer at the City of Newcastle, where responsibilities included creating media releases and engaging with multi-agency efforts for significant events. Prior journalistic roles include working as a Stringer Journalist for Australian Associated Press and as a Journalist and Bureau Chief for The Daily Telegraph, covering diverse news across various regions. Neil's early career included reporting for Newcastle Herald and serving as a Combat Engineer in the Australian Defence Force. Neil holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication and Media Studies from the University of Newcastle.
