Niranjana Mapitigama

Niranjana Mapitigama has over 20 years of experience in data management and database administration. They are currently working as the Senior Vice President and Chief Data Officer at Lakeland Bank, where they are responsible for creating a data-driven culture and implementing a data strategy framework. Prior to this, they held various roles at KPMG US, including Head of Enterprise Data Management and Manager of Enterprise Data Management & Database Administration. They also have experience working at Kraft Foods, Nabisco, and Ortho Biotech, where they contributed to the design, development, and administration of database systems.

Niranjana Mapitigama's education history includes a range of qualifications and degrees in various fields. They have completed an Executive Education program in Management and Leadership at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Additionally, Niranjana holds a Master of Science degree in Computer Science from the Stevens Institute of Technology. They also obtained another Master of Science degree in Electronics and Computer Engineering from the Saint Petersburg State Electrotechnical University "LETI". Prior to that, Niranjana completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Electronics and Computer Engineering from the same university. Furthermore, Niranjana received their high school education at Royal College Colombo, focusing on GCE A Levels.

In terms of additional certifications, Niranjana has acquired the ITIL® Foundation Certificate from ITIL Managers in March 2017. They have also obtained a certification in Foundation of Data Governance from Collibra. Additionally, Niranjana holds the Microsoft Most Valuable Professional (MVP) certification from both Microsoft and the Professional Association of SQL Server (PASS). They are a member of various professional organizations, including American Mensa, New York Academy of Sciences, and IEEE. Lastly, Niranjana is a Microsoft Certified Professional.
