Karen Vargas Mahoney

Karen Vargas Mahoney has a diverse work experience in the field of graphic design. Karen started their career as a Graphic Design Intern at Teatro Centro de Arte in 2013, where they designed visual communications for events and created social media content. Karen then worked as a Junior Graphic Designer at DigimarketingEcuador, where they developed visual content for social media, mailings, and digital campaigns. In 2014, they joined Celmedia as a Junior Graphic Designer, creating social media graphics and mailings for international and local enterprises. Karen also has experience as a Freelance Graphic Designer, working on various projects such as posters, books, illustrations, logos, and print material for cultural entities, national and international brands, and companies from Ecuador and the U.S. Currently, they are working as a Graphic Production Artist at Lakeshirts since 2018.

Karen Vargas Mahoney obtained their Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design from Universidad Casa Grande. Karen attended the university from 2009 to 2014.

In addition to their degree, Karen also obtained several certifications. In September 2014, they earned a certificate in Adobe InDesign CC Digital Publishing Suite from Adobe. Karen furthered their education by completing a Web Development Introductory Course at the University of Alicante in December 2015. In March 2015, Karen received a Certificate in Marketing Communications from the International Advertising Association. Lastly, in October 2017, they obtained a certification for Coding for Designers from Gymnasium.
