Neil Sainsbury

Neil Sainsbury has extensive experience in urban design and planning. Neil worked as an Associate Director at Lambert Smith Hampton since 2023. Prior to that, they served as the Head of Placemaking and Head of Urban Design and Landscape Architecture at Milton Keynes Council for several years. In these roles, Neil managed and led teams providing a variety of urban design and planning services. Neil also oversaw the preparation of design policy and provided design services for the development plans and management teams. Before joining Milton Keynes Council, Neil worked as a Principal Urban Designer at David Lock Associates Ltd and as an Urban Designer at the London Borough of Lewisham. Neil began their career as a Planning Professional at the City of Cape Town in 1998. Neil Sainsbury began their education at Rondebosch Boys High School, where they attended from 1983 to 1987. After completing high school, they enrolled at the University of Cape Town, where they pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in Environmental and Geographic Science, as well as Economics. This program spanned from 1990 to 1992. Following their bachelor's degree, Neil Sainsbury went on to pursue a Masters in City and Regional Planning at the University of Cape Town, which they completed in 1994. Later, in 1996, they attended Oxford Brookes University, where they obtained a Diploma and Masters in Urban Design. The specific field of study for their diploma and masters program is unknown.
