Elaine Whelan

Elaine Whelan is the current Chief Executive Officer of Lancashire Insurance Company Limited at Lancashire Holdings. Elaine has held this position since August 2020. Prior to that, they were with Lancashire Insurance Group from March 2006 to August 2020, where they served as Group Chief Financial Officer. In this role, they were responsible for the financial close and control environment, the preparation of financial reports, and interpreting and presenting data to all stakeholders. Elaine also oversaw the annual Group business plan & presentation to executive management and the Board.

Before their time at Lancashire Insurance Group, Elaine worked in various finance roles at other companies. Elaine has experience in capital management, debt and equity issuance, stock exchange listings, sidecars, derivatives, acquisitions, and communication with the investor and analyst communities. Elaine is a member of the Board and the Group Executive, and has attended various Board and Committee meetings throughout their career.

Elaine Whelan has a Certificate in Company Direction from the Institute of Directors (IoD), a Bachelor's degree in Accounting and Economics from the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, Scotland, and is a Chartered Accountant from ICAS - The Professional Body of CAs.
