Patrick Simon

Patrick Simon serves as the Director of Pension Legal and Policy at the Ontario Pension Board (OPB) since February 2017, overseeing pension-related legal and policy initiatives for a 93,000-member pension plan. Responsibilities include coordinating legal compliance efforts, directing advocacy to government and regulators, and managing a team of specialists. Prior to OPB, Patrick held roles as a barrister and solicitor at Johnstone & Cowling LLP and as Principal Legal Officer at the UK’s Department for Work and Pensions. Notable educational achievements include an LLM from the University of Toronto, where Patrick focused on employment law, and an MPhil from the University of Oxford.
