Al Bain has a diverse and extensive work experience. Al started their career in 1995 at IBM Global Services as a Relationship Manager, where they worked until 1997. Al then joined ComEd in 1985 as the Director of Nuclear IT Operations, where they were responsible for overseeing IT operations related to nuclear power plants until 1999. In 2005, Al Bain joined Landstar and held various positions including Director of Compliance and Software Quality from 2005 to 2011, and Vice President of IT Audit and Support Services from 2011 until present. Their roles at Landstar involved ensuring compliance and software quality, as well as leading IT audit and support services. Al Bain's work experience demonstrates their expertise in IT operations and management, compliance, and software quality.

Al Bain pursued their education with a strong focus on computer science. From 1981 to 1984, they attended Keller Graduate School of Management of DeVry University, where they obtained a BSCS (Bachelor of Science in Computer Science) degree. Prior to that, they attended Ohio Institute of Technology from 1980 to 1982, earning another BSCS degree. Before entering higher education, Al Bain completed their high school education at Byron High School from 1976 to 1979.
