Kay Scaramelli is an experienced interpreter and educator with a diverse background in archaeology and anthropology. Currently serving as an interpreter for Language World Services, Inc. and the Antioch Unified School District since May 2019 and August 2013 respectively, Kay supports families with limited English by facilitating communication in educational settings and translating essential documents. Prior experience includes on-site medical interpreting and a long academic career as a Professor of Archaeology at Universidad Central de Venezuela, where Kay specialized in courses related to archaeological theory and methods. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Anthropology/Archaeology from the University of Chicago, an MSc in Anthropology from Instituto Venezolano de Investigaciones Científicas, and a BA in Inter-American Studies from the University of the Pacific.
