Jim Betz is currently the Chief Operating Officer & Chief Compliance Officer at Lapides Asset Management. Jim has over 20 years of experience in the financial industry, with a focus on financial and regulatory reporting, operations, and compliance.
Jim started their career as an accountant at AG Becker in 1978. Jim then moved to Serfin Securities, Inc. in 1992, where they served as controller for five years. In 1997, Jim became the CFO of Banorte Securities International, Inc., where they worked for three years. From 2000 to 2002, they were the Director of Operations at Safra National Bank. Jim then joined Nomura Securities International, Inc. in 2004 as the Director of Financial and Regulatory Reporting, a position they held for two years. In 2006, they joined Lapides Asset Management, LLC, where they have been working ever since.
Jim Betz's educational career includes an MBA in finance from Adelphi University, a BS in special studies from St. Francis College, and an AAS from the State University of New York College of Agriculture and Technology at Cobleskill.
Their manager is Steve Wilson, Founder & Managing Director, Chief Investment Officer. Jim Betz works with Ted Shaw - Research Analyst, Nick Carpiniello - Director of Trading, and Janice Barbieri - Accountant, Fund Administrator.
