James Nolan

James Nolan has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. James is currently working as the VP, Head of Technical Operations at Laronde since April 2023. Prior to that, they held the position of VP, Head of Process Development & Product Development at Laronde from April 2022 to April 2023. James was also a Scientific Advisory Board Member at Elektrofi starting in September 2019.

Before joining Laronde and Elektrofi, James worked at Ikena Oncology as the Vice President, Head of Technical Operations from April 2019 to May 2022. James also served as the Sr. Director, Head of CMC at Ikena Oncology from June 2017 to March 2019.

James gained experience at various other companies as well. James worked at Pfizer as the Director, BTx Pharmaceutical Development R&D - Nanomedicine Development & Manufacturing from August 2016 to June 2017. James held the role of Director of Process and Analytical Development at BIND Therapeutics from November 2015 to August 2016, and also served as the Head of Process Development at BIND Therapeutics from June 2013 to November 2015. James was involved in Consent Decree Remediation at Genzyme from September 2012 to June 2013.

Prior to that, James worked at EMD Serono, Inc. as a Development Scientist, Analytics from October 2009 to April 2012. James also served as the Head of Purification Development Unit at Biopharma Business of Merck from April 2009 to October 2009. James started their career at EMD Serono, Inc. as an Associate Development Scientist from December 2007 to March 2009.

James began their professional journey at EMD Pharmaceuticals as a Downstream Process Associate II / Downstream Process Associate from June 2002 to December 2007 and subsequently took on the role of Sr. Development Associate / Development Associate from May 2004 to December 2007.

James Nolan has a diverse education history. James started their academic journey by obtaining a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and Biotechnology, with a concentration in Cellular, Molecular & Genetics, from Worcester Polytechnic Institute in 2001. From 2004 to 2007, they pursued further studies at the University of Massachusetts Lowell, where they earned a Master of Science degree in Biological Sciences. Continuing their education, James enrolled at Worcester Polytechnic Institute again, this time completing their Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree between 2009 and 2012. In 2012, they briefly studied Chinese Economics and International Finance at Syracuse University in Shanghai as part of a course focused on the ascent of the Chinese economy.
