Christo de Lange

Christo De Lange has a diverse work experience in the field of cloud engineering and DevOps. Starting in 2008, they worked as a Systems Architect for Cox Newspapers before moving on to Goldmoney in 2009, where they served as a Systems Architect and Systems Engineer. In this role, they were responsible for scaling and maintaining the metals trading platform and corporate IT infrastructure.

In 2013, De Lange joined The Weather Channel as a CMS Architect and DevOps Engineer. Here, they played a key role in migrating older CMS systems to Drupal and setting up Amazon Web Services (AWS) infrastructure for the user-generated content site.

From 2014 to 2015, De Lange worked as a Senior DevOps Engineer at Amplify, specializing in cloud technologies and AWS. Christo actively contributed to the Ruby and Chef community while developing custom build and deployment toolchains.

De Lange then joined The Home Depot in 2015 as a Senior Site Reliability Engineer, where they provided expertise in maintaining and improving the reliability of their systems.

In 2018, De Lange became a Site Reliability Architect for Infor, where they supported the development teams in building and deploying massive-scale SaaS services using AWS technologies.

De Lange joined TekStream Solutions in 2019 as a Cloud Architect, leading the design and implementation of cloud solutions for their clients in AWS.

From 2020 to 2022, De Lange worked at RoadSync as a Cloud Architect and SRE Lead, focusing on automation, CI/CD tooling, and infrastructure design for API-first SaaS services.

Currently, De Lange is working as a Senior DevOps Engineer at QuickNode, where they are responsible for automating the deployment and maintenance of blockchain client nodes, implementing support for new blockchains, and establishing automation patterns for infrastructure management.

In 2022, De Lange also joined Las Vegas Sands Corp. as a Cloud Engineer.

Christo De Lange earned a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Math and Computer Science from the University of Pretoria/Universiteit van Pretoria, where they studied from 1986 to 1988. Christo then pursued an Honors degree in Computer Science at the same institution in 1989. In terms of certifications, Christo De Lange obtained the AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner certification in September 2019 and the AWS Certified SysOps Administrator - Associate certification in November 2013.
