Matthew Penfold

Matthew Penfold is currently the People & Leadership Director at O'Brien. Prior to this, they were with Wesfarmers Industrial and Safety as the Group General Manager of Human Resources from January 2009 to December 2018. Before that, they were with Schneider Electric as the Global Vice-President of Human Resources for Custom Sensors and Technologies from January 2002 to December 2009.

Matthew Penfold has extensive experience in human resources, having worked in various leadership positions for over two decades. Matthew has a proven track record in driving digital transformation and is a strong advocate for open standards and partnership ecosystems. Their commitment to sustainability and efficiency has been recognized by Corporate Knights, who named Schneider Electric the world’s most sustainable company in 2021.

Matthew Penfold's educational career includes a bachelor's degree in commerce from the University of Newcastle, an advanced human resources executive program from the University of Michigan - Stephen M. Ross School of Business, and a leading change and organisational renewal program from Stanford University Graduate School of Business.
