Maria Arshad

Maria Arshad is the Chief Product Officer at LaunchGood. Maria has previous experience working as a Regional Manager at the National Zakat Foundation Canada and as the Head of Operations at SSIMWAVE Inc.

At the National Zakat Foundation Canada, Maria oversaw expansion and growth in Alberta. At SSIMWAVE Inc., they scaled the start-up’s operations from 4 to 40 staff, set up facilities, managed finance and human resource, and supported sales and marketing functions.

Maria is known for their ability to handle multiple conflicting priorities with finesse and for their flexible nature in ever-changing, unpredictable circumstances. During their time at SSIMWAVE Inc., they quickly learned about payroll, accounting, policies and procedures, health and safety, recruitment, job descriptions, expansion, and legal issues. Maria also researched, planned, and executed US expansion, hiring team members, consulting with law firms specializing in US business entities, tax, and other related matters.

In addition to their operational duties, Maria also filled in as an informal Scrum Master at SSIMWAVE Inc., working closely with engineering, QA, marketing, sales, and financial control teams to align goals.

Maria Arshad has a Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, with an option in Management Science, from the University of Waterloo. Maria has a certification from LinkedIn in Ken Blanchard on Servant Leadership.

Maria Arshad reports to Chris Blauvelt, Founder & CEO. Javeria Ola - Product Manager, Mariam El-Khatib - Product Manager, and Samiha Shaheed - Associate Product Manager report to Maria Arshad.
