Syed Abbas

Syed Abbas, MD, MBA, currently serves as an Attending Physician at Lawrence General Hospital since August 2023, specializing in clinical excellence, acute care, and robotic surgery, particularly in hernia repair. Previously, Syed Abbas held the position of Attending Physician at Northport VA Hospital from January 2017 to August 2023 and completed a Clinical Fellowship at the University of Florida focused on robotic and minimally invasive surgery in gastrointestinal oncology from August 2018 to July 2019. Syed Abbas also has research experience from Stony Brook Medicine as a resident doctor and researcher from July 2011 to April 2017, and began a career in research as an assistant at Pfizer from June 2006 to May 2007. Educational qualifications include a Master of Business Administration from Auburn University Harbert College of Business (2019-2021), a Doctor of Medicine from Ross University School of Medicine (2007-2011), and a Bachelor of Science in Physiology, Pathology and Related Sciences from the University of Connecticut (2002-2006).
