Marissa Wood is a highly experienced researcher with expertise in advanced manufacturing methods and energy storage materials. Currently serving as the Deputy Group Leader and Staff Scientist in the Applied and Emerging Materials Group at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory since December 2018, Marissa focuses on developing advanced manufacturing techniques, including laser sintering and 3D printing, to enhance solid electrolyte and cathode materials. Prior experience includes a postdoctoral role at Oak Ridge National Laboratory, where Marissa improved energy density and cost-effectiveness in Li-ion batteries for electric vehicles. Academic research as a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Washington involved investigating transport behavior in silica nanochannels, complemented by a fellowship at National Taiwan University. Additional experience includes positions in process development for targeted anti-cancer compounds and inhaled drug delivery systems. Marissa holds a Ph.D. in Materials Chemistry from the University of Washington and a B.A. in Chemistry from Boston University.
