Sandy Thompson has over 30 years of experience in human resources. Sandy is currently the Director of Human Resources at LCEC since January 2019. Prior to that, they served as the Vice President of Human Resources at Performance Food Group from December 2017 to January 2019. Sandy also worked as an Independent HR Consultant in 2017 and was a Director of Human Resources at Veolia North America from 1997 to 2016. Sandy has also held HR leadership roles at FOLGER ADAM SECURITY, INC and Hendrickson. Throughout their career, Sandy has been responsible for various HR functions including talent management, employee relations, benefits administration, policy development, and compensation initiatives.
Sandy Thompson's education history includes a Master's in Business Administration (MBA) from Lewis University, which they obtained from 1989 to 1991. Sandy'sfield of study during their MBA was Human Resources. Prior to their MBA, they completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration with a major in Business Administration from Lewis University, from 1982 to 1986.
In addition to their formal education, Sandy Thompson has obtained several certifications. Sandy completed a Diversity Equity Inclusion certification from the University of South Florida in April 2021. In October 2016, they obtained a certification in "How to Hire, Retain, and Grow Top Millennial Talent" through LinkedIn. Finally, they have certifications in SPHR (Senior Professional in Human Resources) and SHRM-SCP (Society for Human Resource Management - Senior Certified Professional), obtained from SHRM, although the specific dates of obtaining these certifications are not provided.

We energize the community by providing reliable, cost-competitive electric and emerging energy solutions and quality service to our customer members. We serve customers throughout five counties in pristine, beautiful Southwest Florida. LCEC was formed in 1940 to serve areas no other utility wanted to serve. Today the membership has grown to nearly 200,000 and includes cities such as Cape Coral, Marco Island, Sanibel-Captiva and Everglades City along with areas such as North Fort Myers, Immokalee, Ave Maria and parts of Lehigh Acres. Employees are committed to serving the community through volunteerism and philanthropic endeavors. LCEC is among the top contributors to United Way and is involved in everything from the arts, education, and wellness to local economic development, Chambers of Commerce and many civic organizations. Energizing the community is about delivering electricity but it is so much more to LCEC. It is people, power and possibilities.
