Sampurna Basu

Senior Research Associate at LEAD at Krea University

Sampurna Basu has held various roles in their work experience. Sampurna is currently a Senior Research Associate at LEAD in Krea University since April 2023. Prior to this, they were a Research Associate at the same company from August 2021 to June 2023.

Before joining LEAD, Sampurna worked as a Graduate Assistant and later as a Graduate Research Assistant at The George Washington University from July 2020 to May 2021 and July 2020 to March 2021, respectively.

Sampurna also worked as a Graduate Consultant at The World Bank from January 2021 to May 2021, and as a Social Justice Philanthropic Intern at Justice Love Foundation from June 2020 to January 2021.

Additionally, Sampurna has experience as a Teacher and Volunteer at HOPE KOLKATA FOUNDATION from August 2018 to October 2018. Sampurna taught lessons for marginalized students and evaluated progress while also writing progress reports.

Furthermore, they were a Student Research Ambassador and Volunteer at The Lakshmi Mittal and Family South Asia Institute, Harvard University from October 2017 to January 2018. Here, they conducted research on the effects of migration and interviewed individuals for qualitative data. Sampurna also transcribed data for ongoing research with Harvard professors.

Sampurna Basu completed their Master in Public Policy degree from The George Washington University from 2019 to 2021. Prior to that, they attended St. Xavier's College (Autonomous), Kolkata and obtained their Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from 2016 to 2019. Before college, Sampurna attended Modern High School For Girls. In terms of additional certifications, they completed the NVivo 2018 Essential Training from LinkedIn in April 2021 and the CITI Program Course from CITI Program, A Division of BRANY in January 2021.
