Brentt Brown

Throughout​ ​Brentt’s​ ​career,​ ​he has​ ​nurtured​ ​a​ ​deep​ ​passion​ ​for​ ​making​ ​lasting​ ​changes​ ​in public​ ​education,​ ​so​ ​that​ ​all​ ​children,​ ​regardless​ ​of​ ​demographics,​ ​have​ ​access​ ​to the​ ​types​ ​of​ ​opportunities​ ​that​ ​only​ ​a​ ​high-quality​ ​education​ ​can​ ​provide.​ ​He currently serves​ ​as​ ​Director​ ​of​ ​Business​ ​Strategy​ ​for​ ​an​ ​educational​ ​technology​ ​company called​ ​Mursion.​ ​Mursion​ ​offers​ ​a​ ​safe​ ​virtual​ ​environment​ ​for​ ​teachers​ ​and​ ​school leaders​ ​to​ ​practice​ ​and​ ​master​ ​essential​ ​skills.​ Brentt is​ ​helping​ ​Mursion​ ​expand​ ​its ground-breaking​ ​virtual​ ​reality​ ​training​ ​platform​ ​to​ ​new​ ​verticals,​ ​secure partnerships​ ​to​ ​fund​ ​R&D​ ​efforts,​ ​and​ ​help​ ​raise​ ​awareness​ ​about​ ​the​ ​power​ ​of virtual​ ​simulation​ ​for​ ​occupations​ ​that​ ​require​ ​complex​ ​interpersonal​ ​skills.

Prior​ ​to​ ​joining​ ​Mursion,​ ​Brentt ​was​ ​the​ ​Director​ ​of​ ​Innovation​ ​at​ ​Pivot​ ​Learning​ ​Partners,​ ​a large​ ​professional​ ​learning​ ​and​ ​coaching​ ​organization​ ​in​ ​California.​ ​In​ ​this​ ​role,​ ​he ​led teams​ ​of​ ​experienced​ ​subject​ ​matter​ ​experts​ ​in​ ​designing,​ ​piloting​ ​, and​ ​taking​ ​to scale​ ​new​ ​professional​ ​learning​ ​programs.​ ​Brentt has​ ​spent​ ​a​ ​large​ ​part​ ​of​ ​his professional​ ​career​ ​advocating​ ​for​ ​high-quality​ ​education​ ​for​ ​disadvantaged​ ​youth.​ ​He has​ ​a​ ​Master’s​ ​in​ ​Public​ ​Policy​ ​from​ ​the​ ​University​ ​of​ ​California​ ​Berkeley​ ​and​ ​spent​ ​nearly​ ​a​ ​decade​ ​working​ ​on​ ​state​ ​and​ ​national​ ​policy​ ​initiatives​ ​to​ ​increase funding​ ​for​ ​high-quality​ ​early​ ​education​ ​programs.
