Throughout Brentt’s career, he has nurtured a deep passion for making lasting changes in public education, so that all children, regardless of demographics, have access to the types of opportunities that only a high-quality education can provide. He currently serves as Director of Business Strategy for an educational technology company called Mursion. Mursion offers a safe virtual environment for teachers and school leaders to practice and master essential skills. Brentt is helping Mursion expand its ground-breaking virtual reality training platform to new verticals, secure partnerships to fund R&D efforts, and help raise awareness about the power of virtual simulation for occupations that require complex interpersonal skills.
Prior to joining Mursion, Brentt was the Director of Innovation at Pivot Learning Partners, a large professional learning and coaching organization in California. In this role, he led teams of experienced subject matter experts in designing, piloting , and taking to scale new professional learning programs. Brentt has spent a large part of his professional career advocating for high-quality education for disadvantaged youth. He has a Master’s in Public Policy from the University of California Berkeley and spent nearly a decade working on state and national policy initiatives to increase funding for high-quality early education programs.
