Job description

As the Payroll Supervisor, you will manage the complete payroll cycle; (taxes and benefits, financial administration) for the USA employee base as well as manage our international payroll. You will ensure employees are paid correctly and on time, ensuring third party benefit provider billings are reconciled and paid timeously. You will manage the relationship with vendors, payroll providers and Dayforce acting as the main payroll point of contact for all USA and international employees.

Together, we are building the future of criminal investigations, and need people who are mission-driven, love technology, and who won’t settle for less than excellence to join our team.    Roles and Responsibilities: ·       Manage, implement, and execute of all payroll functions including maintaining payroll records, ensuring timely payments to all employees, reconciling all payroll records to source documents, maintaining appropriate tax and other legislative files, payroll administration of the employee benefit program, ensuring accurate and timely submission of ROEs and issuing of annual tax slips, process expense reports and all filings. ·        Lead the payroll team. ·        Manage international third-party payroll providers. ·        Maintain payroll records, including employee files, and documents and ensure compliance with regulations including maintaining an accurate, organized, and auditable filing system. ·        Prepare, reconcile, and submit year-end payroll filings and reports, and other government required reporting relating to payroll. ·        Ensure databases are set up and reflect the current information, including salaries, hourly wages, benefits, earnings, deductions, etc. ·        Ensures accurate calculation of wages and processing of tax withholding and company earnings-deductions. ·        Be the primary point of contact for internal-external stakeholders, Dayforce Managed Services, and Tax teams. ·        Responsible for the supervision and coordination of payroll processing operations. ·        Manage auditing and ensure all external/internal audit requirements are met. ·        Resolving payroll and benefit deduction administration queries from Line Managers and Team Members. ·        Work with Finance team to ensure relevant items are reconciled (e.g. payroll deductions, overtime, etc.) ·        Work with HR to ensure compensation data are up to date. ·        Stay updated on changes to payroll regulations, tax laws, and industry best practices to ensure compliance and mitigate risk. ·        Cultivate and maintain working relationships with all levels of the organization with a high degree of confidentiality by adhering to legal and ethical standards. ·        Actively participate in payroll system implementations, upgrades, and enhancements, including testing, training, and documentation. ·        Prepare reports for Finance and HR, complying with agreed upon requirements.   Who you are: Driven, detail-oriented, and highly organized. This might be you if you have SOME of the following: ·        Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business, or related field. ·        8+ years payroll experience; preferably working with multi-state and multi-entity payrolls. ·        Payroll team management experience including a deep understanding of end to end payroll processes. ·        Extensive knowledge of US Federal and State laws, taxes, and regulations. ·  Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite ·        Strong analytical and problem-solving mind-set. ·        Able to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast paced environment.  ·  Knowledge payroll systems such as Dayforce, Intaact, Great Plains and Netsuite are a strong asset. ·       Experience with Merger & Acquisition is an asset. ·        Experience with Canadian payroll and/or International payroll is an asset.   What you can expect from us: We serve with energy, diligence, and persistence.
