Mark Sost

Mark Sost is the current VP of Engineering at LeafLink. Prior to their current position, they served as the Senior Director of Software Engineering at SoulCycle Inc. from December 2016 to March 2019. In their role at SoulCycle, Mark was responsible for overseeing, leading, and growing the technical teams that made up the company’s Product and Engineering (P&E) department. This included Engineering Managers, Software Engineers, DevOps Engineers (as well as SREs), and QA Engineers (both manual and automation).

During their time at SoulCycle, Mark successfully grew the team from a relatively small engineering organization to a much larger one as well as bringing new capabilities to the team. Mark's management style is to lead by example, working with the smart individuals on their team to help them grow their technical abilities as well as coaching them on their interactions with others. Mark's motivation is constantly to make our teams more nimble, accelerate our working pace while remaining consistent with our core engineering values, and bring as much autonomy and success to the department as possible.

Mark also works closely with all key stakeholders of the business and our engineering department has been responsible for delivering, maintaining, and iterating all products that the company has released within the last two years. Mark's goal is to act as an ambassador for the P&E department to the rest of the company, keeping them informed of work that occurs within our teams, strengthening their understanding of processes like roadmapping, project evaluation, and OKRs, and building consensus and trust as we partner with them to deliver on their visions and goals to help move the company and brand forward.

Mark Sost studied sound engineering arts and classical trombone performance at William Paterson University, earning a Bachelor of Music degree.

Their manager is Zach Silverman, Co-Founder & CTO. They are on a team with Mike Luby - Director of Engineering, Steffne (Stevie) Palmateer - Director of Engineering, LeafLink Financial.
