Caren E. Short is currently serving as the Director of Legal & Research at the League of Women Voters. Prior to this role, Caren held positions at various organizations such as the Southern Poverty Law Center, NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund, Inc., and Advancement Project, where Caren E. specialized in voting rights and economic justice projects. Caren's professional journey also includes experiences as a judicial clerk at the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court and as a student attorney at Howard University School of Law's Civil Rights Clinic. With a Juris Doctor degree from Howard University School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Purdue University, Caren has a strong educational background in law, political science, history, and African-American studies.
