Doug Middleton

Doug Middleton is the Director of Business Development at Leap. Prior to joining Leap, Doug was the Manager of Strategy at Hue.Ai from March 2018 to February 2019.

Hue.Ai is the world's first Artificial Intelligence product designer for the optical and medical industry. They have developed proprietary technology that combines machine learning with the scientific insights of chemistry, optics and materials to understand and optimize human visual acuity and color perception.

Their software, MAIDAS, is the world's first AI system for optical performance and cosmetic appeal - pushing the boundaries of ophthalmic lenses, coatings, intraocular lenses, contacts and more.

They have three products ready to be licensed: a Color Vision Deficiency Correction Lens (for Color Blindness), a Blue-Light Blocking Lens, and a Progressive Lens.

At Cyborg Industries, their mission is to improve lives through developing re-imagined vision and color products. They are taking the same Artificial Intelligence that is transforming industries like space exploration, robotics, and medical science into the optical industry.

Doug Middleton has a Masters in Electrical Engineering - Systems Engineering from The George Washington University. Doug also has a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Energy, Business, and Finance from Penn State University, as well as a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Energy Engineering from Penn State University. Doug is also certified by the Association of Energy Engineers as a Certified Energy Manager (CEM).

They work with Shenghao Zhang - Senior Business Development Analyst, Tobi Koyejo - Business Development Manager, and Sam Plunkett - Director of Business Development. Their manager is Andrew Hoffman, Chief Development Officer.
