Jonathan Charney

Jonathan Charney has a diverse and extensive work experience in the education sector. Jonathan is currently working as an Account Executive at Learning A-Z since August 2022. Prior to that, they worked as a Business Development Manager at Teaching Strategies, LLC from August 2018 to May 2022. Jonathan also served as a Regional Sales Manager at Achieve3000 from February 2014 to May 2022. Jonathan has experience in board membership, having been the Chair of The Walking Classroom from March 2014 to December 2016. Jonathan also held the position of Regional Sales Director at Learning Together from March 2012 to February 2014. Earlier in their career, Jonathan worked as the Chair of the School Improvement Team at McDougle Elementary in Chapel Hill from September 2009 to June 2013. Jonathan has international education experience as the Director of Partnership Development at VIF International Education, where they led the effort to create the Global Schools Network from July 2005 to December 2011. Prior to that, Jonathan worked as a Senior Program Manager at Commonwealth Corporation, overseeing an educational reform initiative from 2003 to 2005. Jonathan started their career as a Senior Program Manager at Reading Is Fundamental, managing the RIFNet distance-learning initiative from September 1998 to January 2003. Jonathan also has experience as an International Educator, teaching various subjects at International Community School in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, and Colegio Americano in Quito, Ecuador from May 1990 to September 1999.

Jonathan Charney completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in Cultural Anthropology at the University of Massachusetts Amherst from 1985 to 1990. Jonathan then pursued a Master's degree in International Education and ESL at Lesley University from 1993 to 1994. Later, in 2008 and 2009, Jonathan engaged in graduate coursework in Educational Leadership at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
