Marissa Giglio Halatyn's work experience begins in 2002 as an Administrative Assistant at Hartt Summerterm, where they organized workshops and managed registration. In 2003, they became a Teaching Assistant at The Hartt School - University of Hartford. From 2005 to 2010, Marissa worked as a Music Teacher at East Hartford Public Schools, where they taught string orchestra, choir, and general music in grades 5-8. Marissa also led an after-school Show Choir and collaborated with a team of ten teachers to provide a comprehensive fine arts education. In 2010, Marissa joined Achievement First as a Music Teacher, teaching string orchestra, band, and general music to grades 5-8. Marissa designed curriculum, unit plans, and lessons across various disciplines. Additionally, Marissa served as the Dean of Students from 2016 to 2019, implementing strategies to reduce behavioral consequences and foster positive relationships. In 2018, they started working as a Fitness Instructor at The Bar Method, where they planned and taught group fitness classes, demonstrated motivational teaching, and utilized anatomy knowledge, public speaking skills, and interpersonal communication. Lastly, in 2022, Marissa started their role as a Lead Trainer at StoryIQ.

Marissa Giglio Halatyn holds a Master's Degree in Music Theory from the University of Hartford, which they obtained from 2003 to 2008. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education (Vocal and Instrumental, K-12) from the same institution, completing their studies from 1999 to 2003. In addition to their formal education, Marissa has also pursued various certifications over the years. In March 2019, they obtained a Bar Method Teaching Certification from The Bar Method. In March 2015, they obtained a 200 Hour Yoga Certification from Yoga Alliance. Marissa also holds a Public School Teacher Certificate from New York State, which they obtained in May 2014. Furthermore, Marissa obtained a Provisional Educator certification from Connecticut in July 2008.
