Nadim Farajalla serves as the Chief Sustainability Officer at Lebanese American University since February 2024. Previously, Nadim was the Founding Director of the Climate Change and Environment Program at the Issam Fares Institute for Public Policy and International Affairs from 2008 until February 2024. Nadim also held the position of Associate Professor at the American University of Beirut from February 2002 to August 2016 and was the Founder and Director of the Land, Water and Environment Department at SETSintl between 2009 and 2016. Early career experience includes roles as a Senior Engineer at Dar Al Handasah (Shair and Partners) from 1997 to 2002 and as a Senior Scientist at Stone Environmental from 1995 to 1997. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Environmental Engineering from the University of Oklahoma (1990-1994), an MS in Irrigation Engineering from Utah State University (1988-1990), a BS in Agriculture from American University of Beirut (1982-1985), and a Lebanese Baccalaureate from International College (1967-1981).
