Abdulsattar Jihad has been in the construction industry since 2005. Abdulsattar began their career as a Research Developer at The Cooper Union Research Foundation in 2005. In 2007, they moved to Lendlease and worked as an Assistance Project Manager, Project Manager, and Project Manager I. From 2013 to 2022, they worked at Gilbane Building Company as a Project Manager II, with their most recent role being the Hudson Park and Boulevard - Block 4 Project, building a new structural steel vehicles bridge to connect 36th West St. with 37th West St. on top of an active Amtrak Lane. Abdulsattar also worked on the Kent Project, at 200 East 95th St., a 30 story residential building with 102 apartment units, indoor pool and sauna, fitness center, music lounge and an outdoor garden salon. In 2022, they moved to Leeding Builders Group as a Senior Project Manager.
Abdulsattar Jihad obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Civil Engineering from the University of Technology - Baghdad, Iraq between 1987 and 1991. Abdulsattar then went on to pursue a Master's degree in Civil Engineering from The Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art, which they completed between 2005 and 2007.
