Jess Shearer

Jess Shearer is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in educational support and project management. Currently serving as a Senior Governor Support Officer at Leeds City Council since July 2024, Jess previously held the position of Schools and Colleges Liaison Officer for West Yorkshire at The University of Huddersfield from November 2022 to July 2024. Prior roles include Project Officer for Data, Evidence and Impact at Go Higher West Yorkshire, and a Higher Education Ambassador for the North East Collaborative Outreach Programme. Jess also has experience as a SEND Teaching Assistant at both Villa Real School and the North East Autism Society. In retail, Jess worked as a Senior Sales Assistant at Sports Direct. Academically, Jess holds a Master of Science in Developmental and Child Psychology and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, both from York St. John University.
