Jessica Wright

Jessica Wright, DrPH, has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Jessica'smost recent position is as a Senior Director of Learning at Legacy Community Health, where they have been since 2022. Prior to this, they served as the Director of Learning and Development at the same organization. In 2016, they joined Houston Methodist as the Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, and previously held the role of Manager of Academic Development.

Dr. Wright also has experience working with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, where they served as an Advanced Fellow in Educational Leadership, focusing on improving healthcare for veterans and developing educational platforms. Jessica has worked as an Instructional Design Consultant for the Texas Tobacco Center for Regulatory Science and the National AHEC Organization, where they were involved in designing and analyzing community health worker roles and skills.

Furthermore, they have worked at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth) as an Instructional Design Consultant and Graduate Assistant, where they played a key role in curriculum development and supporting faculty and staff. Jessica also worked as a Curricula Development Coordinator for the Texas Public Health Training Center, focusing on the development of continuing education curricula.

Earlier in their career, Dr. Wright worked as a Research Assistant at UTHealth's Dell Center for Healthy Living and served as a Program Coordinator at ChildBuilders, overseeing a program that teaches children how to avoid victimization. Jessica also founded Center Lily Services, a service company that offered catering, language instruction, and event coordination.

Jessica Wright, DrPH, obtained their Doctor of Public Health degree in Community Health Practice from The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth Houston) during 2012-2015. Prior to that, they completed their Master of Public Health (M.P.H.) in Health Promotion and Behavioral Science at the same institution from 2009 to 2012. Jessica'sundergraduate degree, a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Spanish Language and Literature, was earned from Texas A&M University between 2001 and 2005. In addition to their academic qualifications, Jessica also holds several certifications, including being a Crucial Conversations Trainer from Crucial Learning (obtained in 2023), a Certified Diversity Professional from the Institute for Diversity Certification (obtained in 2021), and a TeamSTEPPS Master Trainer from the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (obtained in 2016).
