Lashawn Hanes

LaShawn Hanes, MAET, M.Ed., currently serves as the Assistant Principal for High School at Legacy Early College since June 2022. Previous experience includes roles as an Academic Support Educator and Department Chair at Lexington School District Two from August 2020 to June 2022, and as Disability Services Coordinator at Newberry College between July 2019 and August 2020. Additionally, LaShawn held a faculty position at the University of Michigan and served as a Special Education Teacher at Owosso Public Schools from October 2013 to July 2019. Early career roles include a Teaching Fellow and Undergraduate Research Assistant at Michigan State University. LaShawn holds a Master’s Degree in Educational Administration and Supervision from the University of South Carolina, a Master of Arts in Educational Technology from Michigan State University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Special Education from the College of Education, Michigan State University.
