Maria Sokolova is a highly experienced lawyer currently working as a Staff Lawyer in Inquiry and Investigation at BC's Office of the Human Rights Commissioner. Maria has extensive experience in providing legal aid for low-income individuals and acting as counsel in litigation before Courts and administrative tribunals. Maria has also held various positions such as Judicial Law Clerk at the Supreme Court of Canada, Junior Supervising Lawyer at the International Justice and Human Rights Clinic, and Research Lawyer at the BC Law Institute. Maria holds a Master of Laws in International Human Rights from Harvard Law School and a Doctor of Law degree from Peter A. Allard School of Law at UBC.
