Lauren King is a seasoned legal professional with extensive experience in various roles within the law sector. Currently serving as Senior Supervising Attorney at the Legal Aid Justice Center since February 2023, Lauren previously held positions including Case Counseling Attorney at The Washington Legal Clinic for the Homeless and Housing Initiative Attorney at the D.C. Bar Pro Bono Center. Earlier experience includes work as a Staff Attorney at the Neighborhood Legal Services Program and as an Associate at Gowen, Silva, & Winograd, PLLC. Lauren also contributed to the American Bar Association as a Staff Attorney in the Criminal Justice Section and gained valuable experience as a Law Clerk in the Parole Division of the Public Defender Service. Legal internships at the Mid-Atlantic Innocence Project and the Campaign for the Fair Sentencing of Youth further enriched Lauren's foundational expertise in criminal justice and advocacy. Lauren earned a Doctor of Law (J.D.) from The George Washington University Law School and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Florida.
