Maria Alvarez-Arriaga

Maria Alvarez-Arriaga is an accomplished professional with diverse experience in education, legal assistance, and social work. Currently serving as a Teaching Assistant at California Heights Children's Center since January 2023, Maria has also held the position of Law Fellow at the Legal Education Access Pipeline since January 2021. Prior roles include Legal Assistant at LUCAS & BARBA LLP from August 2022 to January 2023 and Clinical Research Coordinator at Children's Hospital Los Angeles from September 2020 to April 2022. Maria's early career at the University of California, Los Angeles spanned from October 2016 to September 2019, where responsibilities included serving as an Academic Peer Counselor, Community Development and Social Justice Scholar, and participating in the Law Fellows Program. Maria holds a Master of Social Work degree from California State University, Long Beach and a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology, with a minor in International Migration Studies and Chicano/a Studies from UCLA.
