Heather McLinn is a staff attorney in the Housing Unit at Legal Services NYC since September 2019. Previously, Heather served as a Clinic Student in both the Criminal & Youth Justice Clinic and the Civil Justice Clinic at Rutgers Law School from May 2017 to May 2019. Additional roles at Rutgers included Co-Editor-in-Chief of the Women's Rights Law Reporter, Research Assistant to Professor Suzanne Kim, and Public Interest Fellow at The Center for Gender, Sexuality, Law & Policy. Internships prior to full-time employment encompassed positions with the New Jersey Office of the Public Defender in the Appellate Division, The Legal Aid Society of NYC as a Prisoners' Rights Legal Intern, a Judicial Extern for The Honorable Judge Esther Salas at the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey, and as an Immigrant Rights Legal Intern at the Sylvia Rivera Law Project. Heather earned a Doctor of Law (JD) from Rutgers Law School and a Bachelor's degree in Political Science and Gender Studies from Indiana University Bloomington.
