Janet Pittock has a long and varied career in the education industry. In 2004, they began their career as Managing Director of Math at Scholastic Education, where they collaborated with celebrity author Marilyn Burns to deliver on time and within budget, and to develop professional development materials/trainings for end users. In 2009, they moved to JP Development as President, Consultant, Writer, and Editor, where they coached and mentored clients as they realized their visions for educating learners, educators, and the community.
In 2010, they took on the role of SVP, Education at Think Through Math, where they directed math content development and strategic business leadership focused on creating math software. Janet created, developed, trained, and led a team of math publishing professionals to create engaging, efficient, and effective math instruction, delivered online.
In 2013, Janet Pittock moved to Redbird Advanced Learning as VP Curriculum. Janet collaborated with founders, investors, and Redbird team leaders to create a winning product vision, and created a technical authoring and delivery platform with the SVP, Product and Technology, and CTO, to enable product development. Janet also built a content development team from 0 to a team of staff and freelancers of more than 100 in order to build content on an aggressive schedule.
In 2016, they became Curriculum Director at McGraw-Hill Education, where they inspired transformative thinking around personalized and adaptive learning within MHE and in partnership with educators nationwide. Janet also collaborated with experts, internal teams, and clients to share pedagogic philosophy and learn needs of different groups and clients, resulting in greater cross-product use.
In 2019, Janet Pittock moved to Edmentum as Director of Learning Design, Mathematics. In this role, they guided the pedagogic vision of math and science across Edmentum products, and supported clients, sales, and services with training and materials that impact teacher effectiveness and learner success.
Most recently, in 2022, Janet Pittock joined Legends of Learning as CRO/CAO and Vice President, Curriculum.
Janet Pittock obtained a Bachelor of Science from the University of California, Davis in Human Development, Cognitive Development Emphasis. Janet also holds a Multiple Subject Credential from the California Department of Education, as well as Reading Specialist Courses and a Small Business Management Certificate from Saratoga Community College.
